February 18th began the event honoring Mr. Barry Segal in his devotion and commitment to sub Saharan Africa with a Lifetime Achievement Award.  Also among the celebrated was Ms. Bisila Bokoko as L ‘Africana Woman of the Year in eradicating illiteracy in Africa) and Ms. Anna Schilawski L ‘Africana Volunteer of the Year (for her commitment to the children of Liberia).
The event is designed to celebrate, creation, promotion, and distribution of African fashion, art, music, accessories, culture & cuisine. Live performances included singers like Zelma Davis and fashion designs by Korto Momolu, Jedda Khan, Sunhee Hwang,  Issa Sorogo, Taylor Forrest, Lucia Eastman, Irina Shabayeva, Tedd Ion, Farai Simoyi and Selma Berisalic Starfinger.  All proceeds from the program scheduled to benefit the MCF Academy for orphans and abandoned children in Monrovia, Liberia.
