As the Founder of Happy School Association, Tina took six months in planning for the fashion event which was held in Libreville, Gabon in aid for the children of Africa. Her cause focused on the need for schools and education.
Having already built three schools in her homeland Cameroon, Gabon was her next destination.
Six fashion designers Martial Tapolo(Cameroon), Alex Rotin (Paris), Modela (Nigeria) and Sheikha Sigil from Senegal participated in the event presenting part of their collections, together with young local talent. It was a memorable occasion.
On January 1, 2010,Tina and her Vice President, Alia Bongo, drove 30 miles outside of Libreville together with models, designers and staff of the association HAPPY SCHOOL to the l'école d'Essassa a catholic school where two hundred children were standing under the scorching heat of the sun patiently in line waiting for us to arrive. The children had been preparing their welcoming song for well over a week, it was overwhelming. The children were so happy, and excited to receive the presents and buffet lunch that was being prepared for them. Unfortunately, as is often the case, there was insufficient to go around so again they have to share.
The Father of St d'Essassa church was very pleased, he has been in Africa for well over twelve years and urgently needs staff to help him with the children, Tina is back in Paris with many projects on her agenda. The school in Gabon is partly built and she is off again to Cameroon this time in aid of a school for blind children.
The organizers of this charity event are members of Famous Art, an association created in 2007 in Orleans (France). It develops programs to support artistic creation to promote greater visibility to the works of African designers and artists who support humanitarian action driven by their association.
A show of charity through fashion aiming to help improving the lives of children thereby helping them to grow in better and healthy conditions. Famous Art offered the chance for young students from the Nzeng-Ayong fashion school Gabon the opportunity to present their creations.
