One of the biggest events on South Africa’s fashion calendar kicked off on Thursday evening 17 November. Some of Mzansi’s hottest celebs came through dripping at the African Fashion International (AFI) Fashion Week Joburg opening party at Daytona Motors, Melrose Arch in Johannesburg.
The event was all the rage as it was the hot ticket in Joburg, with DJ Zinhle on the decks.

AFI FASHION WEEK JOBURG: BEST-DRESSED STARS
The Jozi fashion streets came to life as our local celebs, influencers, and fashionistas all gathered at the AFI Fashion Week Joburg opening party to kick off the two-day fashion extravaganza.
These two days will showcase Africa’s great fashion talent from young and emerging designers Ascend Label to the more established designers like David Tlale at the Sandton City Diamond Walk.
Miss SA Ndavi Nokeri shined in a long-length, flowing blue dress showing some skin!
Influencer, beauty guru, and the woman who’s always in the tabloids, Mihlali Ndamase, gave us body and black in a Taibo Bacar dress, paired with chunky statement jewelry and spiced it up with a daring red hairdo.
ANGA MAKHUBALO (NAAK MUSIQ)
Singer and actor Anga Makhubalo is also known as Naak MusiQ represented the gents well in an ombre tuxedo jacket with black jeans created by a brand named Sutablility.
Media personality and dancer, Bontle Modiselle was pretty in pink in a layered long dress and kept it simple with accessories. Nice touch!
THE NOT SO BEST DRESSED
Here are those that left us pretty underwhelmed at this fashion event.
Fashion stylist, Phupho looked like an orange aluminum foil in this outfit he was wearing. Is he about to dive into the oven?
DJ Zinhle just looked like she was going to the mall or to the nightclub. Why DJ Zinhle? Why? This is a fashion party. Bring it!
